Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of osseodensifictation technique on the primary stability of implant retained maxillary overdentures
Six patients were selected from the out-patient clinic of Prosthodontic Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University, to participate in this study. Patients were thoroughly examined to reduce human variables and eliminate any factor that might affect the results of this study
Patients were rehabilitated with implant retained maxillary overdenture and complete mandibular denture. Standard clinical and laboratory techniques were followed for denture construction for all patients
Patients divided into two equal groups, three patients each:
• Group I: Twelve implants were inserted in completely edentulous maxilla using osseodensification technique.
• Group II: Twelve implants were instated in completely edentulous maxilla using conventional extractional drilling technique
Surgical placement of the implant was performed under strict aseptic conditions and implant primary stability was measured
