MOHAMED ATEF EL-SHOBKY;

Abstract

The present investigation was carried out during the two sea• sons of 1991 and 1992 to study the effect of gibberellic, potassium sulphate, and ethephon on yield, fruit quality and storage life of fruits under room conditions.
Effect of dates of pruning on bud burst and on the same aspe•
cts mentioned above were also included.
This study was initiated on 10-year-old vines grown on a clay loam soil at a private orchard in Besendila village (Dakhalia Gov• ernorate).
The results obtained have revealed the following points:
PART (1): Field studies
A) Results concerning the effect of gibberellin, potassium sulphate and ethephon on yield and Fruit quality:
1- A tremendous increase in yield resulted after vines sprayed with gi bberellin.
2- Thus, the effect of GA3 was more pronounced compared with either potassium sulphate or ethephon.
3- The increase in yield due to GA3 reached about 63.5% over the control during the two seasons of study.
4- Better increase in yield was gained when either potassium sul• phate or ethephon was sprayed with GA3 compared with the check vines or each.
