Hanan Ezzat Nagib Moustafa;

Abstract

Out of 310 diseased buffaloes with various skin diseases examined,
224 animals proved to be harbour mycotic and bacterial in an incidence of 72.3%, of which 90 cases revealed pure single fungi alone (40.2%), 77 animals showed concurrently mixed fungal and bacterial infection (34.4%) and 57 buffaloes showed mixed fungal infection (25.4%).
. ·Characterizations of all fungal isolates recovered from diseased buffaloes were described in details. Also S. aureus, Str. pyogenes, E. coli , S.epidemmidis, P.aeruginosa and P.pseudoalcaligenes were isolated each
combined with different fungal isolates. Mycotic isolates were mostly prevalent among neck (39.3%), rounded the eyes (I 7.0%) and trunk lesions (15.6%) Skin diseases due to mycotic and bacterial agents seems to be higher in young buffalo-calves lower than one year old (60.3%), Summer season revealed higher prevalence rate of skin affections (47.3%) ,The susceptibility pattern of the most predominant bacterial isolates is described in details. Four different antimycotic drugs were tested against the most predominant fungal strains and the results are described in details.
