Abstract


Iron deficiency is the most prevalent nutritional disorder worldwide and nearly two billion children have anemia. Among students of age 10-12 years as compared to younger children, anemic students were not aware of their nutritional habits. The risk of deficiency is highest when iron needs are proportionately greater than energy needs. This reflects the demands from growth and concurrent expanding red blood cell volume and periods of increased physiological need (Onyangore et al., 2016).
Aim of the study
The aim of this study is to assess mothers' awareness regarding iron deficiency anemia among school age children.
Subjects and methods:
