Abstract


Libya possesses many natural resources, as Libya is considered among the countries rich in various herbs and plants, especially medicinal plants, although it is a country that has a very large area, approximately 2 million square kilometers, as most of its land is desert, it is in the middle of North Africa, but most of its herbs and plant has not had any luck in scientific research to find out the importance of this plant wealth, these plants have been subject to their traditional use as they are in the past. The plants in this research were purposely chosen on the basis of their endemic nature origin and on basis of its usefulness as medicinal plants for healing diseases.
Natural products are the best sources for modern drug development. A lot of synthesised drugs founded on natural products. Whereas terrestrial plants, conventionally, considered as the main source of natural products, during the beginning of the 20th-century antibiotics were discovered and begin searching on the pharmaceuticals from biological sources.
