Abstract

various time intervals.
The objective of this study is to investigate the efficiency of nanofiberous material from modified Cellulose Acetate with Polyaniline/βCyclodextrin (CA-PANI/βCD) as adsorbents for the removal of some organic pollutants like phenol and methylene blue dye from their aqueous solutions. The physicochemical characteristics of the prepared nanofibers were investigated using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Thermogravimetric analyses (TGA). Besides, the effect of different parameters such as contact time, initial solution pH, initial pollutant concentration, adsorbent dose and solution temperature were studied by using batch adsorption experiments. The results showed that the removal efficiency of phenol and methylene blue at optimum conditions in case of modified CA with PANI/βCD was higher than that of PANI and PANI/βCD. The adsorption isotherm of ions was followed the Langmuir model also, the adsorption kinetics of ions was followed the pseudo-second-order model based on the amounts of phenol and methylene blue sorbed at
