Abstract


The Thesis aims to implement a framework for retrofitting existing government administrative office buildings, this framework is aiming to Upgrade the buildings to be more energy-efficient, extend their life cycle and increase the architecture value, decrease the energy consumption and the level of co2 emissions. Also, it will be considered as a guideline to retrofit similar types of buildings in the new Egyptian cities. And shows the importance of existing building retrofitting and the difference between modern office buildings and older ones in retrofitting practice, also shows the types, levels, and phases of retrofitting. Additionally, it studies the experience of office building retrofitting worldwide. As a result, the research develops a new assessment tool to evaluate that type of buildings as a step for making accurate alternatives for energy-efficient buildings solutions And Suggest Retrofitting Alternatives Matrix Reach to Best Results. Finally, Set the Framework
