Abstract


Analysis of solar energy conversion system for individual residential application have shown that in certain geographic areas like desert. This system based on combined photovoltaic thermal (PV/T) collectors has an economic advantage over separate photovoltaic and separate thermal collectors.


The purpose of this work is to study the conversion of solar energy into thermal and electrical energy using a hybrid stand-alone system forced circulation . This system consists of solar cell array, centrifugal pump with de motor and a simplified flat plate collector.


The experimental results are discussed on the light of the characteristics of the photovoltaic thermal solar collector system.


The particulate motor pump unit achieves a good electrical matching with the cells. The de pump is chosen to give a high flow rate in order to achieve maximum efficiency. The array consisted of four modules which were chosen to satisfy the power requirement for the
