Abstract


he main aim of our study was to explore the effect of chromium picolinate compared to the effect of Metformin supplementation with ovulation induction in infertile patients with polycystic ovary syndrome,In particular, its effect on insulin sensitivity, ovarian response and pregnancy rate.
This was a prospective randomized cotrolled trial study on infertile patients with polycystic ovary syndrome and the effect of chromium on improvement of insulin sensitivity and pregnancy rates, compared to the effect of Metformin.
The micronutrient chromium, which is gaining popularity as a dietary supplement to improve the actions of insulin, merits attention in treatment of PCOS obese patients.
This study was conducted in the Obstetrics & Gynecology Department, Ain Shams university maternity hospital's outpatient clinic.
140 PCOS obese women presenting by infertility were recruited from the fertility clinic, Their age ranged from(17-35) years old with BMI (19-35) Kg/m2 diagnosed using Rotterdam criteria of PCOS as infertile polycysti
