EVALUATION OF POSSIBLE PROTECTIVE EFFECT OF CARVEDILOL AGAINST CARDIOVASCULAR COMPLICATIONS INDUCED BY DIABETES IN RATS

Mahmoud El-Sayed Mahmoud El-Daly;

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a complex metabolic disease with deleterious effects on the heart and blood vessels. Despite large body of cumulative evidence on the cardioprotective effects of p.-bIocker, their use in diabetes is still low. Fear from proposed metabolic adverse effect might stand
behind this underuse of this category in the diabetic population in need for cardiovascular therapy.
