Abstract

This study was done for improving preparation and evaluation of the live rough B. abortus SRB51 vaccine; the possibility of the new vaccine in controlling Brucellosis in animals and to determine the suitable, effective doses which conferred high satisfactory immune responses to protect cattle and buffaloes (native breeds) against the danger of brucella infection.
After several trials, usage of different stabilizers and many yophilization parameters to preserve the locally prepared SRB 51 vaccine, provided that parameters keeping the original characters of the vaccinal strain and also keeping the lyophilized vaccine valid, its bacterial count unchanged throughout more than year (15 months). The present study demonstrated that (A -- C) stabilizer was the best protection (52%) of the live vaccinal strain after lyophilization process.
Bacteriological studies were done to identify the rough vaccinal strain and in comparison with its smooth parent strain (S 2308), the vaccinal strain was auto - agglutinate in physiological saline and
n ut ral acriflavine solution, resist refampin and penicillin antibiotics at
