Abstract


This study included 40 eyes of 20 diabetic patients that had clinically significant diabetic macular oedema.



The aim of this study was to compare between the efficacy of diode laser photocoagulation and argon laser photocoagulation in the treatment of clinically significant diabetic macular oedema.


The 40 eyes included in this study were classified into four groups
i according to fluoresein angiographic results and types of laser used:
I Group I: Included 10 eyes of focal leakage maculopathy treated with focal argon laser photocoagulation.



Group II: Included 10 eyes of focal leakage maculopathy treated with focal diode laser photocoagulation.


Group Ill: Included 10 eyes of diffuse leakage maculopathy treated with grid argon laser photocoagulation.

Group IV: Included 10 eyes of diffuse leakage maculopathy treated with grid diode laser photocoagulation.
Every patients was subjected to detailed history taking as regards age, sex, duration of diabetes, visual complaints and drug used to control
