Abstract

Psoriasis is a phenotypically heterogenous immune mediated skin disease that often follows a relapsing and remitting course. It is characterized by well-demarcated, scaly, erythematous lesions that often detected at sites of trauma (extensor surfaces of elbows and knees), however it may involve any part of the body.
Entheseal inflammation is considered the primary lesion in spondyloarthropathies. In this study we focused on quadriceps, superior patellar, inferior patellar, achilles tendon, plantar aponeurosis and triceps tendon, also their affection can be assessed using MASEI score.
This study included 50 psoriatic skin patients who were recruited from psoriatic dermatology outpatient clinic and inpatient department of Ain shams university hospital.
All patients were subjected to full history taking and clinical examination of entheseal sites by SPARCC, laboratory investigations and detection of enthesitis by MASEI score.
All data were collected, tabulated and statistically analyzed revealing that 20 out of 50 patients were positive showed entheseal abnormalities detected by US and this was assessed using MASEI score. Also we found that 10 out of 50 our patients were positive by SPARCC score.
