Evaluation of Serum Cathelicidin in patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria

Abstract
This study was designed for assessment the serum cathelicidin levels in patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria and investigate the possible correlation of serum cathelicidin levels with urticaria activity score.
The subjects of this study were divided into 2 groups:
Group 1 (Control group):
Included 40 healthy volunteers ranged from 20 to 50 years with mean age of 33.60 ± 8.29 years (21 males and 19 females).
Group 2 (chronic spontaneous urticaria):
Included 40 patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria ranged from 20 to 65 years with mean age of 36.88 ± 10.38 years (13 males and 27 females).
A. All patients will be subjected to:
1. Full history taking (special emphasis on duration of urticaria, trigger factors and personal and family history of allergic diseases).
