COMPARATIVE STUDY OF BEAN GROWTH BY USING TRADITIONAL AND NANO PHOSPHATE FERTILIZERS

Abstract


The present study aimed to comparison between traditional and nano phosphorus fertilizers on the growth, yield and nutrients status of snap bean plants (phaseolus vulgaris L.).
To achieve the above objectives, pot and field trials were conducted in a private farm at El Agamian village, West at El Fayoum Governorate, Egypt, with soil texture sandy loam.
1. pot experiment was carried out in two successive seasons of (2016/17 and 2017/18) using an open greenhouse to evaluate the effect of different P fertilizer sources used (i.e SSP and MAP, as a traditional and CPNP as a nano fertilizers) on snap bean plants.
Calcium phosphate nanoparticles (CPNP) were prepared using the co-precipitation method according to Mansour et al. (2016). The prepared calcium phosphate nanoparticles were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transformer Infra-Red spectroscopy (FT-IR), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). X- ray diffraction pattern of prepared nano particles is illustrated. The sample data was compared easily and indexed using ICDD card number 00-011-0293 of the calcium phosphate hydroxide hydrate. The crystalline nature of the nano particles is cleared to be identical to the brushite mineral of monoclinic symmetry with 4 molecules per unit cell. The broadening of the diffraction peak assured the fine particle size. Here in our case, the crystallite size was calculated to be 15ˆ.7 nm.
Scanning Electron micrographs (SEM) are presented a clear geometric large sheets of monoclinic structure are seen on a small scale defining the grain shape. More focusing to see the surface morphology where ultrafine grains with sharp boundaries are observed. With size range starting from 10 - 16 nm. The agglomeration is clear and very small pores are rarely remarked. The grains are well defined from the point of view of their shape, size and distribution.
