Abstract
Comparison between Van't Hoff's equation, Stoughton's / equation and Perraasep TIM method led to the adoption of the TIM method for the calculation of osmotic pressures for sea waters and simulated sea water ranging in salinity between 10,000 and 50,000 ppm as well as brackish waters for which ionic compositions are known.
