Abstract

Due to rapid increase in industrial and agricultural activities, people are increasingly being exposed to environmental health hazards from a large number of chemicals in their workplaces and dwellings and in the general environment and food. Many health problems had appeared recently that could be attributed to antimicrobial residues and bio- accuntulation of heavy metals, in the tissues of animals and fish which constitute the main source of animal protein in human diet.
Methodology is of great importance in dealing with these (wo lypes of residues' where the combination between the biological and chemical method improve the possibility of detecting antimicrobial residues, while the use of (he atomic absorption spectrometery is very helpful! in detecting heavy metal residue . This work was designed to study (a) the degree of sensitivity of the modified four plate test for detection of the antibiotic residues in experimentally - injected chickens by oxytetracycline and benzy/penicillin using the bioassay methods Also investigation the incidence antimicrobial residues in different imported and native animal products sold in Domiatte Governorate using the bioassay methods . Moreover estimation the benzylepenicillin residues in the kidney of energency slaughtered animals and in native and imported animal products (kidney and muscle) using the high performance liquid chromatography technique . (b) The sulphonamide residues in different animal products using the spectrophotomettic technqiue, (c) The heavy metals (Cadmium, lead and mercury) residues
