Abstract


Injuries of the cervical spine are ihe potentially most devastating
injuries involving Ihe axial skeleton. In USA, cervical spine injury has an
annual incidence of 5-10000 cases per year. Recent estimates suggest an
incidence of 8 -10000 spinal cord injuries per year, of which 55% are
cervical (Morris and McCoy, 2004).
