Abstract
The present research work addresses a proposed method for image shape representation. The composed contours of the image are approximated by a set of cubic B-spline curve segments. This approach is composed of a sequence of three processes such as: Edge-based segmentation, shape segmentation and shape representation. This approach is very efficient to save both the processing time and the required storage.
