FLOW REGIME MODELING OF GAS-LIQUID TWO-PHASE, HORIZONTAL AND SLIGHTLY INCLINED FLOWS

MOHAMED MOHAMED ABDEL-RAOUF IBRAHIM;

Abstract

A comprehensive steady state, two-phase, two- component, two- velocity under thermal equilibrium flow regime mapping model has been presented. The model is useful for round pipe, horizontal Hows and slightly inclined upward and downward (-10° to +10°) flowrs. The model is a modification of the Tatiel and Dukler [27] one with the following differences: 1) the present model does
not assume unity for the ratio of interfacial to gas friction factors but uses a recent empirical relationship for the interfacial friction factor, 2) the present model modified the criterion for transition from intermittent liquid and dispersed bubble to annular dispersed liquid based on recent experimental observations, 3) the model introduces the plug/slug transition criteria which is
available in literature.
