Abstract
The oxide growth on the substoichiometric P-NiAl intermetallic begins with theformation of the metastable 9- alumina phase. This phase transforms to the most stable oxide (X-AI2O3 with increasing temperature. The transformation is associated with significant changes in scale morphology. 2- At 1200aC, a-Al203 scale is formed very quickly and no 0-AI2O3 was detected at the
