Fibrin Tissue Adhesive in Patients under Oral Anticoagulant Therapy

Abstract

The management of patients chronically on OAT and who require oral surgery procedures is still controversial. When dental extraction in such patient is indicated, various protocols have been suggested: decreasing the level of anticoagiilation, substituting hepann for oral anticoagulant and temporarily discontinuing the anticoagulant. Obviously, these approaches are not risk free and require close monitoring and hospitalization; besides the fact that they are expensive.
