Abstract
The present work was carried out to survey the common cellulolytic microorganisms ordinary associated with deteriorated valuablemanuscripts, documents and books. The study is to concern the types of isolated microorganisms, their environmental and nutritional demands as well as their physiological behavior and their role in deterioration. The effect of some pesticides on isolated cellulolytic fongi was investigated. In addition, the effect of some conservators on the paper quality was studied.
