Abstract
N-[4-methoxycarbonyI phenyl]-2,4-dimethyl -1,3-butadiene -1,4- sultam (2) was prepared through the reaction of 2,4-dimethyl - 1,3- butadiene-1,4-sultone (1) with methyl-4-arninobenzoate. Reaction of
(2) with hydrazine hydrate gave the corresponding acid hydrazide (3). But the reaction of (2) with ethylene diamine gave the imidazol (4). The reaction of (3) with acid chlorides, namely, benzoyl chloride
