UP DATEING THE VIRAL DISEASES AFFECTING THE EGG PRODUCTION IN EGYPT
Khaled Mohamed Kamel Ibrahim Mahgoup;
Abstract
omprehensive studies involved 40 chicken farms (19 commercial layer and 21 broiler breeder) were carried out to investigate the correlation between AE, EDS' 76 and AI disease an incidence of drop in egg production during actual production. Seroepidemiological survey for antibodies against (AE by ELISA - EDS' 76 by HI - AI by ELISA) revealed variable percent of antibodies among non vaccinated
(commercial layer and broiler breeders) forms. Isolation of EDS' 76 virus was successful in one commercial layer form. The isolate was identified by HI and AGP test for CAM homogenates. Also isolation of AIV was successful in one commercial layer farm. The isolate was identified by
AGP test for CAM homogenate. Further steps for completing the subtyping of the isolated virus is necessary.
