EFFECT OF HEAT STRESS ON IN VITRO MATURATION OF CAMEL OOCYTES

MOHAMED HASSAN KHALIFA;

Abstract

The present work was carried out to 1- study the effect of heat stress during oocyte maturation on the developmental competence of camel oocytes up to blastocyst stage 2- to investigate the efficiency of retinoid acid to alleviate heat stress during oocyte maturation.
This study was designed in two experiments as described below
1. The first experiment was carried to study the effect of partial exposure of camel oocytes with different quality to heat stress on their maturation rate and blastocyst rate. The control groups K1 and K2 was exposed to an incubation temperature of 38.5°C. The treated groups K3, K4, K5 and K6 were exposed to 41°C, 42°C, 41°C and 42°C, respectively. The four treated groups (about 260 oocyte/group) were exposed to the assigned temperature for the first
