EFFECT OF UITRAVIOIT B TREATMENT ON THE EXPRESSION OF KERATINOCYTE GROWTH FACTOR RECEPTOR IN PSORIATIC KERATIONCYTES
SAHAR MAHMOUD MOHAMED ELEMAM;
Abstract
A review of the litrature was made concerning psoriasis vulgaris with special reference to the keratinocyte growth factor receptor and therapeutic effect of ultraviolet B in psoriasis vulgaris.
Assessement of the effect of ultraviolet B on expression of
Keratinocyte growth factor receptor was the aim ofthis work.
The study was done on 40 patients with plaque type psoriasis vulgaris their ages ranged between 14 years and 70 years with a mean of
42.45 Yrs all patients were subjected to detailed history taking, medical and dermatological examination, punch biopsy from psoriatic lesions and perilesional skin before UVB.
The following investigations were performed to all patients:
- Clinical evaluation by PASI score.
- Routine histopathological examination using H, E stains to biopsies taken from psoriatic lesions and perilesional skin.
- Immunohistochemical staining to detect KGFR expression of both lesional and perilesional skin was performed.
- AII patients received broad band UVB for 6 weeks on 3 times per week bases.
Following UVB phototherapy all patients were subjected to clinical evaluation (PASI score), H, E and immunohistochemical
staining of lesional skin.
