PERFORMANCE OF SHEAR REINFORCEMENT AGAINST PUNCHING SHEAR LOADS

Ahmed Mohamed El.said Said Issa;

Abstract

This study investigated the behavior of reinforced concrete flat plates under concentric punching loading which experimentally investigated. The experimental results showed the performance of flat slabs with different types and placement configurations of shear reinforcement of slabs. The general deformational behavior of the tested slab specimens were recorded and examined. To evaluate the results of the tested slabs, numerical analysis has been used by using finite element modeling analysis (ABAQUS 2017) and also theoretical analysis has been used by comparing the results with several of international codes (Six Provision Codes) to estimate the punching shear and conclude that the difference between the experimental, numerical & theoretical results were acceptable. A parametric study had been made by modeling 108 slab specimens to form the two new proposed equations and comparing there results with the results of the codes design equations. And from this comparison, it was concluded that the ratio between the predicted strength (Ppre) & the experimental-numerical test results (Ptest) was (0.966) and this ratio value shows very good estimation of punching shear strength.
