Abstract
Nano imidacloprid followed with 62, 87 and 100% mortality in both concentrations 200, 350 and 500 ppm respectively. Imidacloprid gave 75% mortality at 200 ppm while 95 % and 100 % in both 350 and 500 ppm 9 days post application. Nano chlorpyrifos was the most effective pesticide with both 200, 350 and 500 ppm concentrations, where 3 days post application it caused total deaths recorded 0, 54, 100% mortality with 200 ppm and 0, 91, 100 % mortality with 350 ppm and 0, 100% mortality with 500 ppm, respectively. Chlorpyrifos came second where 6 days post application with 0, 37, 50, 83, 91 and 100% with 200 ppm and 0, 50, 75, 91 and 100 death percentages with 350 ppm and 0, 66 and 83% mortality with 500 ppm respectively.
(2) Susceptibility of the 6th instar larvae with insecticide treatments
Nano imidacloprid followed with 79, 83 and 100% mortality in both concentrations 200, 350 and 500 ppm respectively. Imidacloprid gave 100% mortality at 200 ppm while 100% and 100% in both 350 and 500 ppm 9 days post application. Nano chlorpyrifos was the most effective pesticide with both 200, 350 and 500 ppm concentrations, where 4 days post application it caused total deaths recorded 0, 45, 91 and 100 % mortality with 200 ppm and 0, 70 and 100% with 350 ppm and 0, 79 and 100% with 500 ppm, respectively. Chlorpyrifos came second in this order recorded 0, 50, 66, 83, 95 and 100% mortality with 200 ppm and 0, 58, 79, 91 and 100% mortality with 350 ppm and 0, 62, 87 and 100% mortality with 500 ppm respectively.
