Studies on some Ligands Containing Nitrogen Oxygen and Sulphur Donors and their Metal Complexes

Abstract

This thesis involves spectral studies on some ligands containing nitrogen, oxygen and sulphur donors, viz. o-phenylenedia.mine, o-aminophenol, o-aminothiophenol and some purine and pyrimidine derivatives. The electronic absorption spectra of these compounds have been measured in a wide variety of solvents which are selected to show wide variations in dielectric constant, refractive index and hydrogen bonding
