De l’étude de quelques opérations d’élargissement et de réduction argumentale en français

Abstract

The operations of restructuring of language can be studied on many levels, phonological, lexical, morphological, and syntactic. As the syntax remains one of the least explored levels, we will try to identify and analyze a syntactic phenomenon which is standardized or to be standardized. It is in this context that we propose in this paper to describe the transitivation, the bitransitivation and intransitivation of verbs in french. We defend the hypothesis that between the uses in language and in speech exist fluctuations of the actantial and syntactic schema of verbs in French. Les opérations de restructuration de la langue peuvent être appréhendées à plusieurs niveaux, phonologique, lexical, morphologique et syntaxique. Comme la syntaxe reste l’un des niveaux les moins explorés, nous nous attellerons à relever et à analyser un phénomène syntaxique qui constitue un observable standardisé ou à standardiser. C’est dans ce cadre que nous proposons, dans la présente contribution, de décrire la transitivation, la bitransitivation et l’intransitivation verbale. Nous défendons l’hypothèse que, entre les emplois en langue et les emplois en discours, s’imposent des fluctuations du schéma syntaxique et actanciel du verbe en français.
