Aya Shaheen is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, where she has been a faculty member since late 2016. She earned her M.Sc. degree in 2021 in the field of environmental science and thermal comfort, and she has accumulated nearly nine years of experience in both teaching and research. Currently, she is conducting her doctoral studies focusing on the development of artificial intelligence and computer vision-based approaches for real-time occupancy detection, activity recognition, and adaptive thermal comfort optimization in smart buildings. Her broader research interests include environmental sustainability, building energy efficiency, and the integration of AI-driven systems into architectural design and HVAC control to support smarter and more sustainable built environments.
