Abstract: A spinal cord injury is a type of lesion to the spinal cord that can result in changes to its function,&#xD;
either permanently or temporarily. It produces long-term physical, psychological, and financial burden for&#xD;
patients. Nurses’ knowledge and practice has a substantial impact on patient outcomes. Aim of the study: To&#xD;
evaluate the effect of educational guidelines on enhancing nurses' competence in spinal cord injury management.&#xD;
Research Design: A quasi-experimental design was used to achieve the study aim. Study Settings: The study&#xD;
was applied in the neurological intensive care unit and neurology unit and neurology Outpatient Clinic at Sohag&#xD;
University Hospital. Subject: A convenient sample of (50) nurses was selected from the previously selected&#xD;
settings. Two tools for data collection: Tool I: Self-administered questionnaire; which included two parts; (1)&#xD;
Nurses’ demographic data and (2) Nurses’ knowledge regarding spinal cord injury, and Tool II: An&#xD;
observational checklist of nurses’ practices regarding spinal cord injury. Result: The current study revealed that&#xD;
there was a highly statistically significant difference in nurses’ knowledge and practice post- educational&#xD;
guidelines implementation compared to pre- educational guidelines implementation with (P= &lt;0.05). Also, the&#xD;
study demonstrated that there was a highly statistically significant correlation between nurses’ knowledge and&#xD;
practice with (P= &lt;0.001). Conclusion: The study concluded that educational guidelines implementation for&#xD;
nurses had a positive effect on guidelines on enhancing nurses' competence in spinal cord injury management&#xD;
with significant differences between pre and educational guidelines implementation. Recommendation:&#xD;
Develop a simplified illustrated and comprehensive Arabic booklet to be available for all nurses including the&#xD;
latest information about spinal cord injury, its therapeutic regimen, and how the patients can be managed and to&#xD;
improve their knowledge and practices.</description>

Abstract: Multiple sclerosis (MS) disease relapse is exacerbation which occurr as new MS symptoms or the deterioration of old symptoms. Nurses play a critical role in enhancing care and must know treatments and interventions to provide thorough care for patients with MS relapse. Study aim: assess the effect of educational program on the performance of nurses (Knowledge and practice) regarding caring of patients with MS relapse. Design of the study: Quasi-experimental design (pre &amp; post). Setting of the study: Neurology unit which affiliated to Ain shams university hospital. Subject of the study: Convenient sample of all available nurses (30) who work in the previous mentioned setting. Tools of data collection: Tool I: Nurses Interviewing questionnaire &amp; Tool II: Nurses practice observational-checklist. Results: This study illustrated that there was a positive correlation with a statistically significant at P = 0.00 between knowledge and practice pre and post educational program implementation which mean the improvement of knowledge of nurses and practice. Conclusion: it can be concluded that the educational program had statistical significant positive effect regarding knowledge and practice of the nurses involved in patients care who experiencing MS relapse. Recommendation: Implement ongoing educational programs tailored for nurses to the specific needs of patients with MS relapse. Organize regular workshops and seminars to enhance knowledge and practice of the nurses related care of MS relapse in adult patients.</description>

Abstract: Awake craniotomy is a neurosurgical procedure that enables the removal of a tumor&#xD;
in the brain whereas the patient is awake, therefore minimizing the risk of damage to the brain.&#xD;
Rehabilitation after brain tumor surgery aims to improve the cognitive dysfunction, balance, and&#xD;
increasing the level of performing daily living activities for the patient. Aim of the study: This&#xD;
study aimed to assess the effect of rehabilitation exercises program on knowledge and neurologic&#xD;
functions for patients undergoing craniotomy. Design: Quasi-experimental design has been applied.&#xD;
Setting: Neurosurgery outpatient clinics at El Demerdash Hospital (New Emergency Hospital)&#xD;
affiliated to Ain Shams University Hospitals, Cairo, Egypt. Subjects: A purposive sample of fiftytwo&#xD;
patients that met the inclusion criteria in the previously specified setting was divided into two&#xD;
groups: the study group and the control group. Tools: patients' interview questionnaire,&#xD;
observational checklist of range of motion exercises, mini mental state examination (MMSE), Berg&#xD;
balance scale (BBS) and Functional Independent Measure (FIM) Scale. Results: The findings of&#xD;
this study proved a statistically significant improvement in the study group as in comparison with&#xD;
the control group in terms of knowledge, practice of range of motion exercises, cognitive functions,&#xD;
balance, and functional independence. Conclusion: the findings concluded that rehabilitation&#xD;
exercises program had a positive effect on all results of study group participants and support all&#xD;
research hypotheses. Recommendations: All patients with craniotomy need continuous health&#xD;
education during rehabilitation period.</description>

Abstract: Robotic total knee arthroplasty uses certain software to convert anatomical images into a virtual threedimension&#xD;
reconstruction of joints, might enhance nursing clinical education and patient care. Aim: To investigate&#xD;
the effect of instructional guidelines on Nurses’ performance regarding robotic total knee arthroplasty among patient&#xD;
with tri compartmental osteoarthritis knee with various deformities. Design: A quasi-experimental (pre/post-test)&#xD;
research design was used to conduct the study. Setting: The study was conducted in the orthopedic departments at&#xD;
Sohag University Hospital. Sample: The study subjects were included a convenient sample of all available staff&#xD;
nurses working in previous selected settings and who agreed to participate in the study. Tools: Two tools were used&#xD;
for data collection: Tool I: Nurses' knowledge questionnaire: It consisted of two parts as the following: Part 1:&#xD;
included personal data of the studied nurses; Part 2: Structured multiple-choice questionnaire to assess nurses'&#xD;
knowledge regarding robotic total knee arthroplasty among patient with tri compartmental osteoarthritis knee with&#xD;
various deformities, and Tool II: Nurses' reported practices regarding robotic total knee arthroplasty (pre/posttest).&#xD;
Results: The results of the study showed that the nurses' overall practice scores and knowledge scores before and&#xD;
after the implementation of instructional guidelines regarding (0.001 and 0.003), respectively, had a highly&#xD;
statistically significant positive correlation. Conclusion: Instructional guidelines have a favorable impact on nurses'&#xD;
knowledge and practice on robotic total knee arthroplasty among patients with tri compartmental arthritic knees with&#xD;
varied deformities, according to the study's findings. Recommendations: To increase their proficiency, nurses&#xD;
should have access to in-service training courses and continuing education opportunities on robotic total knee&#xD;
arthroplasty</description>
