SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC STUDIES AND TRANSITION METAL COMPLEXES OF SOME ARYLAZOPYRAZOLE DERIVATIVES

Youssif Hasan Ahmed Ebead;

Abstract

The general scope of this thesis is to present a systematic study on the spectral characteristics and acid-base properties of some 5-amino-4- (aryl)azo-3-methyl-1-phenyl pyrazole derivatives. It is also aimed in this thesis to study the complexes of Co(ll), Ni(IJ) and Cu(ll) with the azo compounds under investigation.

In what follows, a brief description of the different chapters reported in this thesis is given
I. The first chapter repot1s a literature survey on the prevrous work carried out on the spectral behavior and acid-base properties of the azo compounds as well as their metal complexes.
2. In chapter 11, the experimental details t(Jr the preparation of the

subjected azo compounds, the working solutions, and preparation of the solid divalent transition metal complexes are given. The various equipments used for measurements are also described.
