TOXICOLOGICAL STUDIES OF PESTICIDE FORMULATIONS IMIDACLOPRID AND MALATHION ON ALBINO MICE
WALID SAID HELMY;
Abstract
In Egypt, the majority of plant protection pesticides are usually
imported as ready-to-use formulations. However, few local producers release to the Egyptian market
a limited number of locally formulated pesticides. This study aims at:
1) The determination of the acute oral LD50 of imidacloprid and malathion insecticides , as well
as studying and comparing the sublethal toxicity of two imidacloprid formulations (Confidet 35%
SC and Gaucho 70% WP) on the activity of the different enzymes in the male albino mice 24 and 48
hrs after treatment.
