Fahad Salem Mouhamed Al-Hajri;

Abstract

This study presents the detailed analysis of the air quality in Al-
Mansouryia residential area. First, the concentration of SO2 decreased with
time, but the highest concentration in 2005 was from North West in summer
(July) and autumn (September) because of two warehouses fire in the
Shuwaikh industrial area.
- SO2 concentration in South East was high near second ring road in
winter season because temperature is low so dilution of SO2 decreases.
In weekend from 12 pm-20 pm in daylight, the concentration was high as
a result of crowded traffic which led to increase of vehicles emissions.
- The concentration of NO was the highest in 2005 in North West due to
clean up the coastline of Kuwait University, which led to contaminated
Kuwait bay from leakage of pollutants and spread of pollutants in the air.
The concentration was the highest especially in summer (August) at
night period because of crowded streets.
- Third, NO2 concentration was high in spring (April) in North West due
to emissions spread from the Free zone Area and Shuwiakh power plant.
In 2004 the concentration was high in south west due to crowded
