RADIATION EFFECT ON THE SPECTROSCOPIC AND ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PROVSKITE CELLS

Ghada Farouk Abdelrady Abdelmageed;

Abstract

Recent studies revealed the progress of organometal halide (OMH) perovskite materials such as methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI3) in photovoltaics research. Their unique optoelectronic properties such as high charge carriers’ diffusion lengths, high charge carriers’ mobility and shallow traps were credited for their decent performance as solar cells [57, 58]. Furthermore, OMH perovskite provides a cheaper alternative to more expensive materials such as Si, CdTe and GaAs. However, The vulnerability of the material under the influence of environmental parameters such as light, oxygen, heat and humidity hampers their eligibility to marketing. Therefore, the current study aimed to investigate the reliability of OMH perovskite films and solar cells under the influence of several aging factors such as light, oxygen, humidity and - rays.

The present thesis contains four main chapters, conclusion and an abstract. The following is a summery of each chapter:

• Chapter one provides a brief introduction about the evolution of the solar cell technology, an introduction to OMH perovskite materials, and to challenges limiting its applications in the field of solar cells (OMH-PSCs). In addition, chapter one includes the aim of the work, techniques used in the study.
