Comparison of Hearing Thresholds Obtained by Different Methods of Assessment "Suojective And Objective" In Normal And Different Pathologies
Eatidal Abduh AI-Sharjabi;
Abstract
There is a general consensus that accurate hearing threshold estimation is an initial and crucial step for successful intervention later on. So, the precise assessment of hearing level deserves our effort and time, especially for those subjects who are difficult to test by conventional audiological procedures.
This study was designed to compare hearing threshold obtained by different methods of assessment both subjective and objective in 60 ears with normal hearing sensitivity and 120 ears with different types and degree (up to moderately severe) of hearing loss.
The equipments used were: Dual channel clinical audiometer "Madsen OB822". Impedancemeter "intra acoustic A:z.7", Double room sound treated suit "industrial Acoustic Co. lAC 1602-A -CT". Otoacoustic Emissions analyzer "Otodynamic Ltd, IL088" and Evoked potential audiometry "Nicolet spirit". OS/2 version l.
