Improvement of some spectroscopic and physical properties of La1-xSrxFe1-yCoyO3 nanometric multiferroic

Abstract


structural, spectroscopic and physical properties of nano-sized
particles of La1-xSrxFe1-yCoyO3; (x=0.3), (0≤y≤0.6) prepared using the
flash auto combustion method reveled the following remarkable
conclusion:
1- XRD assured that the samples of 0.0≤y≤0.3 annealed at 700 ̊C
crystallized in a single phase perovskite orthorhombic structure.
2- The formation of the samples at 0.4≤y≤0.6 were accompanied by
secondary phases of La3Co3O8, La2CoO4. Increasing the annealing
temperature after 700 ̊C for this group of samples lead to chemical
decomposition of the orthoferrite rather than forming single phase.
3- FTIR showed vibration modes of the compound which changed theire
position and intensity depending on Co concentration.
4- Electrical conductivity increased with increasing Co concentration.
5- A notable increase in the conductivity at y=0.2 in presence of laser
reached to 14% at 1000 kHz due to low porosity of this sample.
6- No remarkable change in the conductivity of samples y=0.1 and 0.3
was detected in presence of laser.
7- The magnetic parameters increased with Co2+doping for 0.0≤y≤0.2 due
to increasing the canting angle; which enhances the ferromagnetic
components obtained from (M-H) results.
8- By increasing Co2+content beyond y≥0.3, both cM and MS decrease
due to the decrease of the tolerance factor and the formation of secondary

phases which have paramagnetic character.
9- Electric and magnetic properties of this group showed that, the sample
of y=0.2 is characterized by enhanced electrical conductivity in
presences of laser than without laser, largest MS and smallest HC,
accordingly, it is recommended for solid oxide fuel cells applications, and
in many magnetic memory devices and modern hard disk drives.
