SURGICAL MANAGEMENT OF ASCENDING AORTIC ANEURYSMS-KASR EL-AINI EXPERIENCE
Omar Mahmoud Nawaytou;
Abstract
An aneurysm is defined as "a permanent localized dilatation of an artery".
.\The aorta is considered pathologically dilated if the diameters of the ascending aorta and aortic root exceed the norms for a given age and body
size. A 50% increase over the normal diameter is considered aneurysmal dilatation. Aortic dissection denotes one or more tears between the aortic lumen and a medial cleavage plane containing active blood flow.
