SOME NOVEL APPLICATIONS OF ASPHALT EMULSIONS

Abstract

In the first part, asphalt slurries, asphalt emulsions and polymer modified asphalt emulsions are formulated using some prepared asphalt emulsifiers and coupling agents. The formulated asphalt slurries and emulsions are used for making soil-asphalt blocks of high compressive strength, waterproofness and durability. Cement kiln dust I sandy clay mixture are the employed nonagricultural soils. In the second part of this study, the viscosity-stability diagrams, of some asphalt emulsion formulation systems,are studied as related to the structures of co­ emulsifiers.
