T
his retrospective study was conducted at clinical oncology and nuclear medicine,Ain Shams University, on 32 female patients with BC metastatic to the brain. The objective of this study was to evaluate prognostic and predictive factors in BC with BM.
Our study, The mean age at diagnosis of BM was 48.7years ±11.39.It ranges from 27 – 69 with median age 49.5 years,17 cases (53.13 %) were more than 48 years,15 cases (46.88 %) were less than or equal 48 years. The majority were postmenopause 59.38% and only 2 of all cases had positive family history (6.3). The majority had manifestation of increased intracranial tension 68.7 %, Multiple BM had the majority of cases 68.8 %.Brain as the only metastatic Site was seen in 9 cases (28.1 %). At presentation of BM, both of only brain and brain with one organ had the majority of cases (40.6 %,34.3 % respectively).Primary treatment of BM was either surgery seen in three cases (9.4 %) also chemotherapy was seen in three cases(9.4 %) while radiotherapy had the majority of cases was seen in 26 cases(81.2 %). After a median follow-up time of 10 months after diagnosis of BM, all patients were dead. Time to BM (TTBM) is defined as the interval of
