Abstract


•Chemotherapy plays a central role in the treatment of visceral metastatic breast cancer. The aim of this work is assess the response rate and the toxicity of vinorelbine and cisplatin in visceral
;metastatic breast cancer previously received anthracycline .a total of24 patients were included

"in this controlled trial carried out at NEMROK . Eligibility criteria includes age up to 70

:performance status score 0-2 histolgicaly .proved breast •cancer with evidence of visceral metastasis, patients received the following chemotherapy protocol: navelbine 25 mglm2 in day
':J&8, cisplatin 80 mglm2 day I, cycle repeated evei)' 3 weeks .the over all response rate is 31 %

"7/22 patients, the main toxicity in this study is neutropenia and neutropenic fever, 2 deaths occurred due to septic shock, grade iii-iv neutropenia occurred in 22.2% of cycles .from the study we can conclude that navelbine•cisplatin is a reasonable combination in metastatic breast cancer, however more prospective randomized trials are needed to consolidate this .finding is needed.
