Abstract


oday ureteroscopic lithotripsy is the gold standard treatment of ureter stones all over the world and one of the most commonly performed procedures, Its success rate at clearing these types of stones is generally higher than. Other procedures, is a good choice for very large or oddly shaped stones or stones that are very hard. It is the only minimally-invasive, stone surgery which causes relatively less pain and done through body orifices, allows for early ambulation and it is out patient procedure (Rosén et al., 2012).
Patients with ureteroscopic lithotripsy are affected physiologically, psychologically and socially by the negative way, so it is important for such patients to assess their needs for improving the quality and value of the care for them (Adrian and Berg, 2013).
Aim of the Study
This study aimed to develop instructional guidelines for patients undergoing ureteroscopic lithotripsy. This aim will be achieved through the following:
• Assess patients' needs (physical, psychological, social, educational and spiritual) regarding ureteroscopic lithotripsy.
• Develop instructional guidelines based on patients' needs assessment.
