Electric Field on and underneath Ultra-High Voltage Transmission Lines Bundle Conductors

Samar Akef Abbass Ahmed;

Abstract

Nowadays ultra-high voltage transmission lines are widely used for transmitting electrical energy for long distances. Consequently, research work for health effects of the electric fields underneath these lines is very important. The electric field impact on environment and interaction with human beings are also having a great interest. The electric field calculation on the conductor surface is an important factor to determine the insulation level, corona, audible noise (AN), and radio interference (RI) levels.
Precise calculation of the electric field at the ground level and at the conductor surface of the transmission lines is very important aspect in the transmission line design. Quantitative description of the electric field around high and extra high voltage transmission lines has been presented in many researches but at ultra-high voltage transmission lines still needs further investigations
