Abstract

Regional anaesthesia

ntravenous regional

has more to offer in . surgery.

anaesthesia (IVRA) is a simple,

reliable and economic technique. Thus, it can be popular in the casuality or out patient departments.

IVRA is suitable for many operations on the extremities. Several drugs have been used in this technique and the most common in use in lidocaine. In view of the possible adverse effects, the search for an alternative approach to IVRA would be desirable.

The aim of this study was to compare the classical IVRA technique with other two techniques; either the use of low do e lidocaine, combined with fentanyl and pancuronium or the use of lidocaine with tenoxicam and pancuronium.
