A QoS multilevel mobile network with adaptive call admission control and bandwidth allocation
Asmaa Mohamed El-said El-sayed;
Abstract
Future generation wireless networks are envisioned to provide ubiquitous
'
networking to a wide number of mobile users, promising them the ability to access the various data networks anywhere and anytime. Such networks have motivated the research into efficient management and allocation of the wireless network's limited resources.
Mobile communication systems should use limited resources in an efficient and convenient manner. One way for achieving that is to guarantee the Quality of Services (QoS) required by each user, and in the same time maximizes their revenue by maximizing the number of the users (calls) admitted to the network. Provisioning connection-level QoS in wireless cellular networks seems to be difficult due to the limited bandwidth, the highly fluctuating wireless environment ancj the user's mobility.
This thesis presented a new framework for an efficient call admission control and bandwidth allocation scheme, with controlled QoS degradation.
