Abstract


Our aim in this thesis which consists of four chapters is focused on finite-difference methods and similarity solutions for solving some problems in fluid dynamics. Through this study the generalized Burgers' equation as well as unsteady boundary layer flow near a stagnation point are transformed in the similarity form by using Buckingham's Pi-theorem and group theoretic method. A comparison between the present methods with other methods are given. A brief discussion of these chapters are given as follows:
