Abstract


SUMMARY
T
his essay was intended to review the problem of the increased ischemic heart disease population that led to increase in number of patients in need for surgeries. The new advances in diagnosing the previously undiagnosed ischemic heart disease patients added to that increase.
In the past decades the emergence of new operative imaging modalities, new orthopedic prosthesis allowed much more population to get the advantage of operative solutions for their acute and chronic conditions.
This study discussed the problem of getting the high-risk patients; because of their ischemic hearts, into the major orthopedic surgeries and managing their conditions safely throughout the perioperative period.
