ENDOSCOPICALLY ASSISTED APPROACHES TO THE PITUITARY

Ahmed Abd El Aziz Hegazy;

Abstract

Chrome renal failure is a functional diagnosis characterized by progressive

and irreversible decline in glomerular filtration rate. This study was done on patients with chronic renal failure, to compare the frequency and type of upper gastrointestinal endoscopic findings as well as prevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection in patients with chronic renal failure under regular hemodialysis versus those on conservative medical treatment. We finally conclude that there is significant difference between the gastro - duodenal manifestations in patients with CRF on conservative management and those on dialysis with a higher prevalence of inflammatory changes in CRF patients on regular hemodialysis than that on conservative management. Also, the prevalence of H. pylori is higher in CRF patients on
hemodialysis compared to patients on conservative management. We recommend that attention should be paid to H.•pylori infection as a major

risk factor inducing upper GI problems in patients on hemodialysis towards which more intensive studies should be directed.
